Art, like life is a Quandary - Learn to Simplify

Sleepless Nights

It is 2:07 in the morning, and I have been up all night. Whenever this happens I get online and read about reasons why people can't sleep. Surprisingly, it is the same information, every time, nothing new; and one of the first reasons people can't sleep is looking at electronic devices. HA, well I am breaking that rule right now.

So I get up and get my lavender/chamomile tea and begin to type my blog. Usually another reason for lack of sleep is thinking too much about art. My art, Sargent's art, the art I see in the museum...the list goes on. Ideas, colors, textures, why did a gallery look at my art on instagram, and now they are following me? WOW! Is being an artist a blessing or a curse? Or is it just me, with this huge drive to succeed by the power of my hands? To prove to  people and other artists that you can make it in the art world. And make a good living at it.

*sigh*, big sip of tea. A little ADD I am sure, but art is my outlet, both for calming my mind, expressing myself, and helping humanity. Art is a wayward course, the more I do, the more I want to do, the more extreme I want to be, and ...the list goes on.

Starting in August 1, 2016 I moved my studio home, from a large studio space in Huntsville, where it was busy all the time and commissions were rampant. I have not suffered too much, but I needed to quiet my little art soul so I could fine my art soul. It has paid off so far, just 5 months into it. I will resolve lots of art issues for me here, get large gallery representation,  and  become well known. Write a book. give workshops, share myself deeply with others. I have projects and needs for patrons and investors. I am setting goals and accomplishing them.

So, No wonder I can not sleep. I have a lot to create, and a short time to get there. Another sip of tea, warm and soothing, calming me. This brain of mine, wants to share everything with the world. Let people know that they can discover the creator inside of them. It is so exciting to see when a student "gets" it or pushes to succeed. So I can not wait until I can go to sleep and rejuvenate my mind so I can create another day.

Love to myself, and you,

Jennifer
