Wake up
Earlier this summer I made a journal entry on June 20, and recently reread it. I do not know where my train of thought comes from sometimes, and wonder "Did I write that"? Some days can be more profound than others. Some days you might know exactly what to do, and others you might wonder about questioning. Well this journal entry spoke to my future self, and apparently was written for me to "hear" and share today.

June 20, 2021
Years go by, without knowing, and then you realize you missed out on some of the best years of your life. The enjoyment just lived itself out.
I could get really mad about it! or I can just accept it. I had to worry, work, fret, be anxious, live with resounding "No's" inside and I suffered! Because I feared-I sulled. But then I woke up and realized- I LOST those years. It wasn't moments...it was YEARS.
Do I go around apologizing to the people and family I danced around? Do I apologize to my horses for missing some of their best years? Or the earth for missing it's seasons? This would do no good. Could I make up with some of my muses? my friends & Family? Write those books I've been thinking about? Swim rivers, run through canyons? Ride horses out west?
I asked my 90 year old dad what advice he would give to younger generations- he said "I don't know."
What? I thought in my head. I do not think like that. I thought this was strange, although he has a bit of dementia, but I would have thought he would have something to advise. I have plenty of advice for younger people at age 53. Mainly - Take time to THINK, Enjoy, Laugh and ponder the wonders of the world.
Enjoy sweating, enjoy freezing, Just find the GOOD in everything!
I have a tropical tree that I have brought in to my house during winters for 3 years now. It is only about 6' tall. This spring I moved it outside to bless the garden, as in past years. I was outside the other day to water the plants and I noticed it had a bird's nest carefully hewn in the center of it.
I exclaimed with joy speaking to the tree as if it were my best friend, "Wow! you have fulfilled your purpose-someone has made a home in you!" Happy and yet perplexed because I realized-I missed the baby birds. They had already been born, raised, and flown away. How did this happen without my notice? Again, Not present with my surroundings. I still have to be more aware and take time to visit; even with my tropical tree. But what a gift and lesson from nature and God.
The great lessons and takeaways in this:
1. Your purpose can be filled just by living-you can provide home for someone (aware or unaware).
2. Don't let life pass without awareness.
3. Take time to sit with nature, listening to it.
4. Wake up.
I believe the earth does not cry because mankind can not 'get it together'. Man cries alone. Nature moves on without your awareness. Bliss and heartbreak stem from the same place in you. If there is a crack in our manmade sidewalk, nature finds a way to grow there.

We can follow nature's example and make the best out of perceived bad situations. It will change your perception. So this journal entry was a wonderful reminder to me to wake up to my purpose, leave the "cracks" behind (nature will fill it), and bless those that make a home in your wonderful world, whether you are aware of it or not.
Happy creating!!!!
