A Glass of Red Wine
A Glass of Red Wine
Life can seem surreal or hectic. Although, when you are conscious of certain moments that thread your experiences together, you can find a hyperfocused guiding element with your 5 senses and maybe related to your gut instinct.
I recently found myself in a situation with back-to-back schedules and multiple places to be for several different reasons. Going into this I was feeling “hectic” and had my inner child kicking and fisting the air having a temper tantrum- wondering how in the heck I would get through it. Fortunately, the tools I have practiced for years such as meditation and ©HeartMath allowed me to have a few sane moments, and, as I prepared for each event, something was giving me a sense of ease. It was as if I was sand, sliding through a funnel. The same me- but sifting to different parts of the world and circumstances. I kept my cool and just jumped, or, in this case, slid into the mysterious unknown places and experiences.
Today, resting and reflecting, I told myself…"I made it.”. An artist could paint an image of me standing on the other side of a see through mountain and viewing the experience with relief. I understand ya, God. It happens to be a Sunday and a Day of rest.
I am able to look back and see my accomplished tasks, which were all good, all yeses, and all having some action plans to write down and move through with one of the major lessons to have better scheduling.
But the thread throughout the entire and brief 15 days, 6 entirely different events, 4 different cities and states, circled all around a glass of red wine. I had to remind myself constantly to breath deep, remain grounded, look for signs, and be open hearted.
The moments, like bread crumbs, were linked when my 5 senses took over at a table when I saw the invisible yet solid edges of a clear glass and red splashing its sides, reinforcing its structure, the tactile feeling as I held the stem, The smell, and then the tangy taste of merlot or other red grapes on my tongue- It fortified the surrounding relationships with passion, love and laughter.
I have been asking for God to guide me, or the universe or just my heart, (which are all the same to me) and it occurred that the glass of red wine, was my answer. This has been a force in my life to move away, or come to, or gather, or relax, or enjoy. I realized this controversial glass of red wine has led people for centuries. I felt I was in a dream and that the glass of red wine was my wake up call to pay attention to this moment! I was the star in all of these movies - and someone was filming them (namely my consciousness).
I ended my back-to-back craziness with an impromptu event to support a friend, with my same name, at her art show at a local wine shop. Of course her art was focused on wine, and I bought one of her new images portraying the infusion of old masters art with a contemporary flare. The image I bought, which I was so drawn to, was Michelangelo’s “Creation of Adam” - where she cleverly inserted a bottle of red wine being poured from Adam to God replacing the finger touch.
There it is again! The glass of red wine, containing separate varieties of grapes which are joined to create complex but balanced tastes and bouquets, quietly guiding me in this brief sip of my life and journey on this planet., Now I have a painting to remind me of these past fifteen days and their major significance in very important decisions in my life. In each area - a new way of being and trusting the guides, however they show up.
